EP.6 : Fake Body Parts

Medical Students can’t learn everything with a Standardized Patient - Sometimes they need the help of some Fake Body Parts! This week Katie and Guest Gwen Grastorf discuss the tools they use (aka the fake body parts) in certain encounters to take the learning experience just a step further into reality (without the reality of getting accidentally injured by students in training). With help of medically accurate, dismembered body parts, both near and far from the SP’s, we discuss the out-of-body and bizarre experiences of using these SP educational aids, and why they are so cool and valuable in the medical educational setting.

Gwen Grastorf is a performer and actor based in the DC metro area, specializing in physical theatre. She is a company member with Happenstance Theater and creates devised work with them throughout the year.
